Unlike other members of the sales team, Jordan Langley’s background isn’t fabrication, manufacturing, or rubber. “I was actually the supplemental insurance agent for Sioux Rubber when a sales position at the company opened up,” said Langley. “They thought I’d be a good fit, and I agreed.”
One of Langley’s projects has been the HawkPad, a resilient press pad for die-cutting operations and honeycomb manufacturers. “The HawkPad is a multi-layered wood and urethane combination that returns very clean cuts, even after thousands of uses. I think we’ve only touched the surface of what it can do, and I’m excited to explore its value in other industries.”
Since his first day almost two years ago, Langley has enjoyed traveling and interacting with customers as a function of his job. “Selling products that last as long as ours do presents a bit of a challenge sometimes,” says Langley. “It’s hard to be front of mind when your products don’t call a lot of attention to themselves after they are installed. We don’t create things that wear out easily.”
Langley believes there are several advantages to working with Sioux Rubber, and it’s not just because he works in sales. “Our entire company is focused on long-lasting quality. Just look at the tenure of the employees and the lifespan of our products,” he added. “Couple that with the fact that we remain one of the most competitively-priced urethane and rubber manufacturers in the country, and you have a very strong partner in business.”
