Over the past 60+ years in business, we have grown and learned a lot. Every employee is an essential member of the Sioux Rubber family, and many have been with us for a decade or more! Today, we’re shining the spotlight on an employee that has had an impressive 16-year (and going!) career: Sales Manager Derek DeGroot.
Derek joined the Sioux Rubber & Urethane team in 2005 as a fabricator. After working at the plant for almost ten years, he leveraged his experience, product knowledge, and people skills into a sales position. His favorite part about working on the sales side of the business? The people.
“I love getting to meet people, see new places, and build relationships with customers,” DeGroot says. “It gives us great satisfaction to know that we are offering our customers the best available product that will save them money in maintenance costs and keep them running longer.”
As Sales Manager, Derek spends the better part of his day providing top-notch customer service to prospective and existing customers. He follows up on leads, provides quotes, and checks in with regular customers. He also is responsible for generating leads and researching potential customers that could be served by all that Sioux Rubber & Urethane has to offer. Derek loves this work and enjoys connecting with so many people as part of his daily routine.
“A perfect day for me is just being able to do my job to the best of my ability, and to help this company grow,” said Derek. “The biggest goal for the sales and management staff at Sioux Rubber is to see sales rise to new heights unlike that which we’ve ever seen before.”
