Introducing the Tuff-Tube®- Urethane Spout Liner

   In the agriculture industry abrasion is one of the biggest enemies in spouting applications. The constant flow of grain, seed and fertilizer handling can significantly wear on your spouting causing downtime and loss of production. In many instances grain can get in-between the liner and spout causing buckling, plugging and peeling issues. In a season or less the constant abrasion will ruin your spouts.

Both rubber and urethane are excellent products with a wide variety of uses in today’s industrial world. Some of which overlap and many that don’t. The three main areas of emphasis for these products are abrasion, impact and corrosion. Once you narrow down what type of issue you are trying to combat and what is causing it you can much more easily select a product to best suit your needs.

In most cases a vulcanized rubber to metal bond is significantly stronger than a glued on or cold bond although there are advantages to both. Even though the vulcanized bond is stronger it is a more labor intensive process needing more machinery to accomplish which ultimately leads to a more expensive product. So depending on the need for bond strength in any specific application or project will determine which process/product will best suit your needs.
